Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ifasto (“ifasto,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the ifasto website and queue services. We handle personal information in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法 / APPI) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

ifasto provides dynamic queue-pricing technology to restaurants. ifasto is a technology provider: when a guest pays a skip-pass fee, that payment is made to the restaurant, which is the merchant of record. ifasto does not collect, hold, or process guests’ payment-card data.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

Contact information you send us directly, such as your email address when you contact us at arnav@ifasto.com.
Queue informationwhen you join a restaurant’s queue through ifasto: party size and, optionally, a name or phone number you provide so the restaurant can confirm your party at the door. This is processed on behalf of the restaurant.
Usage data collected automatically through privacy-respecting analytics (page views, approximate region, device type) to understand how the site is used.
Browser storage— we store your language and currency preferences in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers them. These never leave your device.

We do notcollect or store payment-card numbers. Payments for skip passes are handled directly between you and the restaurant through the restaurant’s payment provider.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

operate the queue service and pass your party details to the restaurant you chose;
respond to your enquiries;
understand and improve how the service performs;
comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing

We share personal information only as needed to provide the service: with the restaurant whose queue you join, and with service providers who host and operate the site on our behalf (for example, our hosting and analytics providers). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law.

5. International transfers

Our site is hosted on infrastructure that may process data outside Japan. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with APPI and, where applicable, GDPR.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at arnav@ifasto.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
